The campsite at Gaddstaðaflatir in Hella has previously been used for the National Icelandic Horse Competition (IS Landsmót hestamanna) but is now available to Camping Card members. The campsite is spacious, with new toilet facilities and access to a well-equipped building for cooking and enjoying meals. Gaddstaðaflatir is a part of an equestrian area, and nearby you can spot Rangárhöll riding hall and the main track that regularly hosts the celebrated Landsmót.
The campsite is far from the noise of Hella, yet close enough to enjoy the services in the town, such as the local swimming pool, shops, and other facilities. To get to the campsite, drive south along the road marked Gaddstaðaflatir past Stracta Hotel. After driving about 200–300 metres you will see the site on your left.
